In January 2018 Quicksilver parent company Boardriders INC, announced it would acquire longtime competitor Billabong, to join forces in the surf and action sports apparel world. Although the future of what it means for both companies is not yet real clear. The recent real estate listing of Quicksilvers national headquarters in Torquay, Victoria, Australia could be a sign of what’s to come. The 70, 000 square foot office space located just blocks from the beach and the nearby Surf City Plaza, has been listed for sale Expression Of Interest until August 23 rd, 2018. While a list price hasn’t been disclosed recent reports indicate that Quicksilver could locate further north, to Burleigh Heads, Queensland. More than 1,100 miles to the north.
Some have speculated that Quicksilver’s team in Torquay will be combining forces with Billabong, which is also headquartered in Burleigh Heads, Queensland. We will have further updates in the future on this possible new move for Quicksilver.
