Finn McGill of Hawaii has taken out The 2018 Men’s World Pro – Junior Surfing Championships presented by Jeep in Kiama, New South Wales, Australia in 3 – 4 foot waves yesterday at Bombo Beach.
Despite suffering an ankle injury prior to the start of The World Junior Championships, Finn McGill managed to rise above the rest of the field to claim the 2018 World Pro -Junior Title surfing against an inform Joh Azuchi of Japan.
McGill showed little signs of slowing down putting together an electric performance to post two excellent wave scores an 8.00 and an 8.90 to bring his accumulative total to 16.90 points. McGill linked together a series of giant backside turns in the final heat which saw Japanese surfer Azuchi requiring a combination of two scores to take away McGill’s lead.
