Jordy Smith has claimed his first Hawaiian win at the Vans World Cup held on the North Shore of Oahu. South African surfer Jordy Smith the current number 3 rated surfer in the world, has spent many years competing on the World Championship Surf League Tour without any success in Hawaii.
Competing at The Vans World Cup Of Surfing over the last week Smith secured his first victory on Hawaiian waves today. Smith was undeniably the most on point surfer at the Sunset Beach big wave venue today.
Smith overtook a final that included Frederico Morais from Portugal, Torrey Meister from Hawaii and American surfer Tanner Gudauskas.
