A new GrafFix mural art project will adorn the Bullsbrook skate park in Perth, Western Australia in late August 2016 and residents are invited to come along to the painting which will take place on Sunday, August 21. 2016.
The young people involved from Bullsbrook Community College have been attending design workshops at the Shack Youth Centre. They are eager to explore the legal avenues for urban artworks the GrafFix project provides and keen to further develop their space. The Bullsbrook event will be the fourth urban art project to be painted in the City of Swan’s north ward. The city mayor said it was a fantastic way to engage the young people in a positive community art project.
The Graffix program has been including the young people of Bullsbrook in murals for more than three years now. The youth artwork would be a welcome addition to the area, which included the existing BMX park and developing cultural hub. These relationships have allowed the program to positively engage directly with young people wanting to contribute to their place.
